Farewell Nurse Lyn, Happy Retirement Old Mr Moggs!

It is with great sadness and much love, that all of us here at the Manningham Vet Clinic say farewell to Head Nurse Lyn, who will be leaving us after nearly 7 years of faithful service. Lyn has been a constant smiling face here at the Clinic, and her absence will surely be felt by staff and clients alike. Her love of animals shows in her work and she will be sorely missed. Lyn has decided to try her hand at emergency nursing so will be heading over to the Essendon accident and Emergency Clinic in the near future.

The long and the short of it!

One of our lovely clients here is the very handsome Lugh. Lugh is a 3 year old male Irish Wolfhound - all 60kg of him! He is definitely what you would call a gentle giant, and is always very interested to find out what Mr Moggs is up to when he comes in to see us.

Cats in the City opening in Bulleen

We are very excited to announce the opening of Cats in the City, our very own cattery! Located just upstairs from the clinic, your cat will soon be calling our place their second home. Furthermore, in the comfort and care of our veterinary and cattery team, you will never need to worry about your feline friend when you are away. Find out more about Cats in the City here. Contact us now for bookings.

An update on Mr Moggs

Our clinic cat, who all our clients know as the ‘boss' (alias Mr Moggs), recently had a bloodtest. As an older cat he has started to exhibit some strange behaviours, namely drinking a lot and pawing his water bowl, sometimes pulling it all around the kitchen!

Our feathered team member

Charlie is a very beautiful, female Cockatiel of unknown age who came to live with Carly, one of our senior vet nurses. It was lucky for Charlie that she was living with someone who is familiar with birds, as she became unwell. She was quiet, off her food and seemed generally unhappy.

Trail-blazing bomber

One of our very special senior pets that visits us here at the Manningham Vet clinic is Bomber the golden retriever. Bomber was one of the very first dogs to visit the Royal Melbourne Hospital many years ago as part of the volunteer pets program. Although now retired, Bombers' human mum Jeannie tells us how when he was just 12 months old he started to visit the elderly patients, sitting in a room whilst they were brought in to see him.

Dr Eles’ in the Hen house!!

Dr Ele has added to her family - 4 lovely chickens! After all of us here at Manningham have listened to her ‘ohh'ing and ‘arr'ing over whether she should get these chickens for the past 4 years, she has finally taken the leap and they haven't looked back! Chickens make great pets and Dr Eles' boys, Ethan and Ben love their chickens and shower them in cuddles, which the chickens seem to enjoy. They are let out regularly for pecking and wandering around the yard and are quite spoilt.

Paton - Manningham's Border Security

Jane, one of our lovely vet nurses has recently said goodbye to one of her fellow housemates - "Paton" a customs detector dog in the making. Paton has been living with Jane since he was 8 weeks of age, as part of the customs detector dog unit fostering program. He spent his puppyhood becoming comfortable with as many different social situations as possible, so he had lots of trips to parks, playgrounds, shopping centres, swimming and the like.

Our recent Puppy School graduates

Over the past 6 weeks, we have had 2 groups of puppy preschool graduates. All puppies did very well in their first time at 'school', and all graduated with flying colours! Our puppy graduates will now have very fond memories every time they visit us at the clinic, which makes their trip to the vets relaxing and stress free!
