Dr Ele Hunt - Veterinarian
Dr. Ele graduated from Sydney University in 1989. After graduating Ele worked in a Dairy practice in South Australia before moving to England to work in mixed practice. Ele later obtained her membership from the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in small animal medicine in 1998. Ele returned to Australia's warmer weather in 1995, working in small animal practices in Sydney. In 2002 she and her family moved to Melbourne where she worked in small animal practices before joining the Manningham team in early 2004.
Ele and Rod have two energetic boys, Ben and Ethan, 4 chickens and 2 guinea pigs.Ele enjoys swimming, reading and cross-stitch.
Dr Helen Orbell - Veterinarian
Helen has recently joined the team at Manningham Vet Clinic starting in March 2009. Helen graduated from the University of Queensland in 2001 and has only just returned to Australia after working overseas since graduating. Helen has worked in mixed practice in rural New Zealand for 12 months and then in the UK in mixed and small animal practice. She then returned to New Zealand where she worked at Massey University Veterinary Teaching Hospital as a small animal veterinarian. In 2008 she worked in the US at Washington State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital and completed qualifications for Membership of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in small animal medicine.
Helen is married to Geoff who is also a vet and they live with 2 Hungarian Vizsla's - Finn and Sika - and cat Harris. Helen comes from a rural background with a family sheep farm in Wedderburn, Victoria. Her interests outside work include travel, photography,scuba diving, gardening and cooking. Helen's family are based around Melbourne and she is enjoying being back home close to family and friends.
Carly Wilby CVN - Nursing Manager
Carly starting nursing in 1998 and joined the Manningham team in November 2008. She began as a trainee veterinary nurse in her home town Finley NSW, before working in a mixed practice (small/large animal) in Shepparton. She moved to Melbourne in 2001 where she worked as a senior nurse at a clinic in the North Eastern suburbs. Carly is married to her childhood sweetheart Bradley and they live together with Diesel the Staffy (pictured) and Austin the cat. Carly's areas of interest include client communications, emergency nursing and critical patient care. Carly is also a keen Hawthorn supporter.
Miranda KC - Veterinary Nurse
Miranda Knur joined the Manningham Clinic in March 2009 after completing part of her Diploma in Veterinary Nursing in 2008. She has experience with both large and small animals, previous to joining the Manningham team. Her menagerie of pets consist of Rhana the Staffy cross, Patrick and Ruby, the smooth haired fox terriers (or terrorists, as they are also known), and Saffy her part bred Arab. Miranda enjoys all aspects of working in the veterinary practice and is very excited to have joined the Manningham team. She is looking forward to meeting you and your special friends.
Lauren Young - Trainee Veterinary Nurse
Lauren is the newest addition to Manningham, having started in May 2009. She has enjoyed a few part time and volunteer positions with animals before deciding to pursue Veterinary Nursing and will be commencing Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing soon. At home, Lauren has a very spoilt pointer cross, Tahli, and a horse, Troy, whom she dedicates all her spare time too. Lauren is enjoying her time at Manningham Vet Clinic and is looking forward to furthering her education in nursing and meeting you and your pets.
Jessica Sonnerveld - Veterinary Nurse / Cattery Manager
Jess is one of our veterinary nurses and is currently studding
certificate IV in vet nursing at Box Hill tafe. She is also our puppy pre-school teacher and new cattery manager! Jess loves spending time with her dog Cayse, playing with her cheeky kitten named Tiger' or riding through the bush on Kaiyah her beautiful new horse.
