Out like a lizard in the sun!

Dr Cathy and Dr Vanessa had an interesting visitor in January - a blue tongue lizard that had met the wrong end of a dog. The client found the lizard being used as a toy by their dog and so brought him in for us to examine. The little chap had a nasty wound on his flank that required suturing.

Keith the rabbit needs a "fix"

Keith is a lovely lop-eared rabbit who was recently adopted by his new family. Keith settled in well in his new home. He was loving the attention of his new owners and their three girls but unfortunately had started to show some aggressive tendencies. Keith had not been desexed so he visited us to have this procedure performed.

Ducking for cover

The perils of city life for native animals were brought home to us here recently when a mother wood duck and three of her ducklings were sent to us. The mother duck had been crossing a busy road to get to the river when she and her ducklings were struck by a car.

A Lamb In a “Baaaahd” Way

One of our vets, Dr Helen Orbell, hails from a sheep farm property in Victoria. Unfortunately, one of the prized breeding lambs broke her back leg. Dr Helen brought the lamb in to be x-rayed and the fracture attended to - causing much stir amongst the staff, as it is not every day we see a lamb here at Manningham.

Desexing a Rabbit - Meet Romeo

Romeo is a very cute 8 month old rabbit who came in to the Manningham Vet Clinic for desexing. His owners elected to castrate Romeo as he had become increasingly aggressive with other rabbits and had started to bite his friends.

Wildlife Rescue - A Possum’s Story of Survival

A little ringtail possum was recently brought into our clinic by a lovely gentleman, Paul, who found her on his driveway, bleeding profusely and scared and upset. She allowed Paul to handle her - generally a sign that all was not well.

A rabbit's adventure - Milk's orthopaedic surgery

Dr Jenny's daughter Annie is in Grade 5 and they have a classroom pet bunny called "Milk". Milk is only a few months old and is still getting used to the doting attention of all his carers- he has "sleepovers" at class members homes on weekends- and sometimes he gets a little overwhelmed. This was demonstrated by returning back to the classroom after one sleepover misadventure with a nasty fracture in his hind leg.
